Key features

Go-Vocational Tourism is for learners who are at or above CEFR level A2.
A 24/7 solution with student and teacher access on any device; bite-sized, interactive learning content motivates independent learning.
Authentic and contemporary content focusing on practical, real-world language, designed to build students’ confidence to prepare for face-to-face interactions with customers and colleagues.
Collaborative activities, such as role-play and discussions, equip students with the speaking skills they need in their everyday interactions and the real-life situations they will experience while working in their chosen career.
Self-contained microlessons, which include teaching and checking moments with signposting and focused questions for independent learning.
Detailed guidance for teachers includes pathways to suit the lesson length and the ability of the learners, support on how to blend the learning materials, and extension activities and teaching resources, all in one place.
Microlesson quizzes in Discover give students an opportunity to check their own progress at the end of each module and allow teachers to review scores and track progress in the gradebook.
Evaluation criteria are provided for speaking and writing tasks in Collaborate, supporting students to reflect and self-evaluate and enabling teachers to assess students' success.

Methodology

Go-Vocational Tourism has six modules, each with three elements; Discover, Collaborate, and The Career Podcast:

Discover
This is learning material students can use by themselves. In each module, there are four short lessons (microlessons) that teach students key language and provide them with practice of listening and reading. A fifth microlesson provides a chance to review the key language and a quiz that checks understanding.

Collaborate
This is learning material that teachers will show on screen in a classroom or in virtual lessons. In each module, there are six sections based around different types of classroom activities. There are sections that cover speaking and role-play activities, discussions, project work and setting up writing tasks.

The Career Podcast
This is an optional microlesson based around a career interview podcast. It is connected to one of the careers featured in each module. Students can access this content in their own time, or the teacher might want to use it as extra listening practice in the classroom.

System Requirements

Teachers using Go-Vocational Tourism will need a stable internet connection, a digital device, and classrooms with projectors/screen/Interactive Whiteboards. Additionally, students require personal digital devices and internet connection for self-study or online work at home (if assigned).
