Susan Kesner Bland has taught English as a Second Language and English as a Foreign Language in university and adult education programmes in the United States and abroad. She has also taught numerous courses in linguistics and applied linguistics. She holds a Masters Degree in TESOL from New York University and a Ph.D. in linguistics from Cornell University, with a specialization in the structure of English and lexical semantics. She has worked in the areas of lexicography and computer-assisted language learning as a contributor to online learning tools in English and French, and has been a frequent presenter at national and international conferences in TESOL and applied linguistics. Her research articles have appeared in applied linguistics collections, the TESOL Quarterly, and The Modern Language Journal, and she is the author of Intermediate Grammar: From Form to Meaning and Use, and Grammar Sense, both published by Oxford University Press.
